Meticulous planning and theory-driven foundation-building
Prior to the official commencement of the drill, the company’s safety management officer delivered a mobilization address on the factory plaza. A prominent banner reading “Wuxi Yongkaida Gear Co., Ltd.—Fire Drill” was displayed on site, and all employees, dressed in their uniform work attire, were visibly energetic and stood in neat formation.
Drawing on the unique production characteristics of the gear-manufacturing industry, the person in charge used a whiteboard demonstration to provide a clear and concise explanation of key areas for identifying fire hazards in the workshop, the golden rules for initial fire suppression, and the proper methods for using fire extinguishers. By covering both theoretical concepts and practical operational details, the training ensured that every employee could understand and retain the information.
Real-World Training: Precision Firefighting Demonstrates Expertise
Following the theoretical briefing, the highly anticipated hands-on fire-extinguishing exercise commenced. Under the on-site supervision of safety officers, employees conducted drills in small groups.
Faced with a simulated fire, everyone rigorously followed the four-character operating mnemonic—“lift, pull, grip, and press”—calmly and confidently wielding their fire extinguishers to aim precisely at the base of the flames and deliver a targeted spray. As the white dry powder blanketed the blaze, the open flames were instantly extinguished. The atmosphere on site was both tense and well-organized; whether they were new employees making their first attempt or seasoned veterans with years of experience, all demonstrated strong emergency-response skills.

This fire drill represents a comprehensive assessment of the company’s work on production safety. By adopting a “theory-plus-practice” approach, it effectively dispelled employees’ passive, “spectator” attitude toward fire drills and truly achieved the goal of “everyone learns fire safety, and everyone knows how to extinguish fires.”
